Holiday Fire Safety Tips

Fire Safety Lesson in Progress

Happy Holidays! While this is a great time to spend with family and friends, it is also a busy time for fire fighters with an increased amount of fire calls. The top causes of holiday fires are cooking, decor, dry trees and candles. For a safe holiday season, follow the tips below:

  •  When cooking, always stay in the kitchen if the stove top is in use.
  • Read instructions thoroughly about how to defrost and fry a turkey.
  • If decorations are worn with broken cords, please replace.
  • Keep children & pets away from lit candles.
  • Check all smoke alarms!
  • Keep your tree watered. Dry trees engulf in flames immediately. A properly watered tree has a hard time catching and keeping on fire.

Boulder Blimp wishes you a safe and happy holiday season! Also, a huge shout out to our first responders for all they do – we thank you!!
